Okay so I purchased a W595 off eBay a few days ago, the seller claimed that the phone was unlocked and ready to go with any SIM.
I receive the phone and put my Telstra SIM card in, start it up, and the phone kicks up an error stating to 'Insert correct USIM'. I'm guessing this means that the phone isn't unlocked, but the seller isn't replying to my e-mails, so I guess you guys are my last resort. Again, the model is a W595, and it's 3 branded. Could I possibly unlock the phone with some software, or would I have to purchase an unlock code? Cheers, Tony. (Okay so I've done a quick search, and it seems that I can't unlock the phone using software, so looks like I have to purchase a code. How would I go about doing that? After making sure the Flash drivers are installed, run the application, turn off phone, reinsert battery and connect holding 2 and 5.

Okay guys, update!
I've managed to go off and debrand my phone, as well as unlock. Now I'm quite interested in the modded drivers for the camera and such, how would I go about picking the right one, and installing it? |

W595 uses *.wbxml acoustics. I think there are some dedicated drivers there for the w595. The cam driver you must use ones specifically for the w595.
Whatever you upload, make sure you backup the originals first

For camera driver, use Brazzuka's Standard modded driver
For acoustics there's plenty of choice, I use the PHF_Play's from J.R.G Sound

Okay guys, I've successfully installed Brazzuka's camera drivers into my phone, and it's great.
At the moment, I'm working on changing my carrier name. QUOTE The first thing you need the file "networklist.xml" found at tpa / preset / default In the file system of phones! This file can be opened with Windows Notepad, Notepad + +, or an XML editor It says the file can be opened with notepad etc. I'm currently in the Filesystem, using A2Uploader. How do I open the networklist.xml? |

Right click on the file and press 'read'. The file will be saved in PH_out folder.

Modifing the networklist file doesn't work on all A2 phones. Not sure if it will work on your w595.

Didn't work, so I'll probably leave that for another day (: I've just noticed though, is there an option or a fix to disable the auto-brightness feature which dims your screen when in certain room conditions? I'd like the screen to be constantly at 100% brightness :b |

There maybe patch, but again...not sure. Take a look in the w595 patches thread.
