So it seems. I have my K510i which won't start anymore. It shows a white screen and that's it.

Just tried to read flash with setool but wouldn't do it. Guess there's no battery. I set it to charge, a red light appeared under the on/off button. When it was working I've never seen this light... blink.gif Is it good or bad?

I remember it wouldn't read the flash or couldn't initialize gdfs when I last tried. I'm gonna try again and show y'all what setool tells me, but I guess I need to charge the battery first. And that red light...

Yes do try and charge the battery and the red light may indicate EROM/GDFS damage. Do you have a GDFS Backup? Try again with SETool2lite or XS and post the logs and you may need to connect holding 2 + 5. smile.gif

I could insert the battery from the t280 as it seems the same size.

I have a gdfs backup but it's on another hard drive and I can't get it until tomorrow sad.gif
Anyway, first I gotta try and read flash or gdfs with setool or xs. Gonna try xs next. I'll post the logs as soon as I get at least some errors.

There is little point in reading the flash or the GDFS as these maybe damaged. smile.gif

I didn't lose it's power, I think it's just discharged.

So I'll let it for half an hour, if it won't work (as setool doesn't seem to recognize anything and xs says: 11:32:51| Error: Cannot open phone communication port at first and on second try it won't recognize it either). I think it's the battery so I hope it's charging.

okay... opened it with xs and i get:
QUOTE
12:56:43| Baseband ID: 8040
12:56:43| Protocol Version: 3.1
12:56:43|
12:56:43| Sending db2010_cid00_prodid_p3l.bin...
i held the c button for 3 minutes.

with setool2 i select k510, i hit read flash and connect. nothing happens within 3 minutes. After cancelling it says

I tried. No reaction on xs, no reaction on setool2.

I tried again with C and setool2 showed me this:
QUOTE
ChipID:8040,EMP protocol:0301
erom_readvar: error reading unit 0/6
error while reading security units
SECURITY UNITS CAN'T BE READ !
DAMAGED FIRMWARE/GDFS OR EMPTY PHONE
phone pre-boot failed,possible RECOVERY needed.
Elapsed:29 secs.

I took it to a shop in the past, said they would fix it but they weren't able. I told a friend about what those guyz tried and he told me that they lack professionalism. So I though to ask professionals here on se-nse. smile.gif

Empty phone... that means no software? Oh... they told me they will try to re-soft it and I'll lose everything... I guess they managed to empty it but no re-soft. I thought they did the re-soft. Anyway, now what? sad.gif

If you're sure there's life in the battery then I don't think you going to fix it for free. sad.gif Try Davinci team.

Did you try flashing the MAIN firmware yet?
DaVinci is not a very good option, I'd prefer d-ultimate unlocker.

Dunno how to flash the main firmware if I can't load it with either xs or setool.
D-Ultimate Unlocker? I have version 3.11. What do I do with it?

Ok, so I installed D-unlocker and did what it said there, but it won't give me the READY button so I can press it. After pressing 2-5 and inserting cable the screen lights and remains that way. Nothing else happens.

First I thought of uninstalling and reinstalling the flash drivers. I tried to uninstall using this tutorial HERE but I could not find the (hidden) Flash Driver in Device Manager. It was simply not there. I reinstalled drivers and tried again those steps. Still no Flash Driver in Device Manager under Universal Serial Bus Controllers or anywhere else.

Is it the drivers? Is it the phone? sad.gif

Tried that way... couldn't find them either.

Let's say they work. Could I patch it or should I take it to a shop?

PS: I got my GDFS backup.

I have the same problem with a w810...for a few days it always said that same errors both in xs and setool but it finally connected and I managed to flash it..but now the problem is back and I cannot customize it. It may have some serious problems both mine..and yours and I don't think the gdfs has anything to do with it and before i begun flashing it I also had the same problems...white screen..restarting..anyway...If you manage to repair it please send me some ideas

The GDFS backup is from the k510i. It was made last year, the first time I accessed the phone with SeTools (the first time when I accessed the phone ever). So it was made when the phone was working perfectly.

I'm running on Windows XP SP2 Professional.
