K850i Screen Problem, Screen went black but still everything else function Options

My K850 screen just suddenly turned black, but still I can control it with keypad and soft touch.

At first, the screen will be on, but if I press 1 or 4, the screen would go off. After a while, I can turn it ON if I touch any buttons.
Right now it just won't come back, but still function.

What's the problem and how to fix it?


Another thing, right now, I can back up my contacts, but how can I back up the MMS?

I got tons of them and I hate to lose them all.

Screen: sounds like you need a new one.

Backup: use my phone explorer: should be able to back up everything

Yeah, I've had the same problem with my K850, and so had some others. The ribbon that powers the LCD backlight is interrupted. You'll have to change the LCD screen because of that. Just to make sure, play a little with your phone, and when the screen turns black, look at it under direct sunlight or other powerfull light source. If you can barelly see what's on the LCD, than that is you problem.

Thnx for the comments, it's really helping.
Thankfully that I had ond old half-broken LCD, I'll try it out and see what happen.
And if I had to get a better one, I'll just have to borrow my friend phone to check out.

And it's like what you said morpheus, I can barely see something.

About the backup, I used MyPhoneExplorer, and it did almost back up everything except for the MMS messeges.
Is there a special way of doing this or what?

I trully hope it's the LCD, cuz I don't want to lose anything from my phone.

Wow it did really work fine. and not only that. My old screen doesn't look half broken from the inside
I remember my phone fall in the sink, and then the top half of the screen were blank.
I opened up and dried it for hours but nothing change
It seems it needs more time. Good thing I didn't throw it

One more thing, the thing that made me think it might be a software issue, that it was suddenly happen
You know, I just put it in the charger before I sleep. And when I woke up, I found it like this.

What can damage the screen?
