Ok, i brought a new w610i from ebay around december last year, used it for a month then the screen went blank and it wouldnt turn on. When its plugged into the wall on charge and i press the on/off button the infa-red light flashs and stays on for a while, ive heard flashing my phone will fix this problem?

Also my phone just will not connect to my laptop, i plug the usb & phone into the pc and nothing appears, im no expert but im guessing to be able to flash the phone it must be connected to the pc?

Could someone please help & maybe recommend a good flashing program with a step by step tutorial as i have no idea what im doing and would appericiate it.

Thanks smile.gif

In order to flash it you'll need the flash drivers to be installed then the pc should detect the phone in flash mode. The normal drivers won't detect the phone when there is no life in it.

Are you sure the SEMC USB Flash drivers are installed correctly? When you installed them, did you connect the phone to pc holding C and did the pc detect new hardware (SEMC Flash Device)? smile.gif

If so try connecting holding 2 + 5...

I downloaded the flash drivers & extracted them into C:/Programs/SonyEricsson
Then i clicked on start, right-clicked computer selected 'manage' and clicked on device manager.

I took the battery out, waited for 10 secs, replaced it & plugged my phone into the cable thats connected to my laptop while holding c, i tried that process a few times holding the C button for up to 2mins each time and absoulutely nothing appears. Ive plugged another sony ericsson into the computer (k750i) just to check everything was ok on my pc and it connected almost instantly.

Ive found this forum which suggests i need to download something called SEUS:

Also my friend who is usually good at technoglogy seems to think my phones motherboard has had it. Is this a possibility?

Thanks

SEUS is another option, yes. Try that. It also installs the drivers. The symptoms your phone has indicate it may be a EROM/GDFS problem. If its either of those and flashing with SEUS doesn't fix it then a paid online service like Davinci/D-UltimateUnlocker may be the solution. Give SEUS a go. smile.gif
