Unlocking K850i Options

Hi all,

Well ive been a member for ages now but havent visited here for years - I became out of touch with SE unlocking etc when I went from my W800i to Apple iPhone.

I have a K850i which is locked to orange and I need to unlock it - I used to regularly patch unlock/firmware patch etc and had all the software required but have completely forgot as its been so long!

Could someone bring me up to speed on what I need to unlock the K850i?

Doh im so stupid - I meant K810i and not K850i!

I did think the phones looked very different...thanks for the Aerix link though ive signed up as may be helpful in the future.

Can you help with K810i? Thanks!

Just checked on the DB/CID explorer and that says it should be CID 52 - which according to the 'quick unlocking guide' on here can be unlocked quite easily?

It looks fairly straightforward so will try it later :-)

Connect with XS++ and post the log to make sure.

Ok will do - could you post a link to the correct usb drivers that i should download? I guess I mean the usb flash drivers - should I also download the ones from sony ericsson themselves?

Make sure you use genric firmware, as then you can also mod the phone with extra patches as well

Here is what ive done so far - downloaded the main firmware:

K810_R8BA024_MAIN_GENERIC_SM_RED52.mbn

Used the sim lock patcher to create a vkp file:

Remove_SIM_lock_K810_R8BA024_GENERIC.vkp

I then ran XS++ and backed up the GDFS, after this I flashed the new main firmware and that went fine :-)

I then download SETool2lite and used qamaker to create a quick access patch -

I tried to flash this patch along with the main firmware but I keep recieving 'flashloader not responds' errors and the phone boots up in normal file transfer mode :-(

I've read up and some people say that if the battery is not full then it can cause this so I will charge the battery and try again, is that correct?

Also i'd like to debrand the phone to remove the orange stuff, I understand I need to flash the filesystem to do this?
Can someone post the correct debranded fs I should be using for the UK?

Basically any europe FS, but make sure that the custom pack matches the region in the FS.

Try to use FAR and JD flasher with all the add ons.

And yes make sure that the phone is near 100% charged

Hi Guys,

Right I cant get it to flash the quick access patch with SETool, I have flashed the Main firmware fine on its own but when I try to add the QA patch I always get the 'flashloader not responds' error. The battery is fully charged btw.

So I guess I need to use the Far/JD flasher method? can anyone link me to a walkthrough or explain how to flash the QA vkp and then my unlock vkp with Far & JD?

Just wanted to say a big thanks for all your help guys!

Ive flashed main and applied qa patch, I then successfully managed to apply my unlock vkp patch which unlocked the phone :-)

I then flashed the FS and used a custpack and all works great :-)

Thanks folks - ill keep hold of the software this time for the next ericsson i need to work with!
