So a few months back i got the WSOD on my W300, i flashed it and it sort of fixed the problem. (Once in a while the white screen used to come back). But a few weeks later i dropped it on the floor (Only a really light drop on carpet) and from then the screen would just display pure white. Very rarely when i flip after a charge the display would actually work and show 'Charging' but onced flipped down and up again it is back to white.

I've flashed in past but has not fixed the problem, does anyone know what else i could possibly do?
Thank you.

Maybe that 'light' drop has made something loose inside. If you're confident enough, take it apart and check the ribbon cable to the screen, otherwise take it to someone who is confident, ie repair shop! smile.gif

Thanks for the reply, and that is what i might do.
Need to get a T6 screwdriver and check, if it is connected properly then i might buy a new LCD.

A white screen cannot be caused by anything else right apart from firmwire/ribbon/lcd?

No its just firmware or hardware, and if the LCD has been in contact with water

90% probability that the ribbon cable/flex is damaged...I faced the same problem a week ago...

Had someone i know take apart the phone and they spotted the ribon connected to the LCD to be broken, where can i buy these ribbons from? I cant find them anywhere, all i am seeing is flex cables which is something different i think.

Thanks.

New LCD

Ok, thank you very much.
You are sure of this right?
Because someone i know said the 'cable/ribbon' is broken. He did not specify if the lcd ribbon or flex was broken.

Double check with the mate that opened it and ask him where the cable goes to, but to me it sounds like the LCD

Ok, the LCD also used to fade to washed out colours, so that could be the LCD also?
One more thing, as i flip open and close the phone now i can hear a crackle, of the ribbon/flex.

Now that is starting to sound like the flex cable (runs from the lower board to the top board, esp if youre hearing it)

I would gamble on getting the flex cable, get your mate to fit it and see what else needs doing (the washed out colours could be down to the flex cable starting to break)
