Right, so I have k800i, with the k810i firmware which I did from a while back with the whole k800i@k810 thing, not sure what CID or whatever it is though, what can I use that look that up?

I've also been reading up on some of the new stuff that has been happening since I last changed menu icons. This Simple Advanced MainMenu (SAMM) seems interesting. If I was to get this onto my phone how would I go about it? Would I need to change the firmware once again or what?

Cheers.

First connect your phone to XS++v3.1 or SETool2lite which will give all the relevant info (if it says "Not supported" then its CID53 and you'll need to use FAR + JDFlasher).
Second, in order to use SAMM which is an elf btw, you'll need to patch with an elfpack. IF you have CID53 then patching is just a little bit more complicated, hopefully you won't.

Connect to one of the programs I mentioned and post a log... smile.gif

Alright I'll connect it all up tomorrow and post up a log. But I'm sure positive it was a CID52, because I don't recall anything about CID53.

This patching with an elfpack thing for using SAMM, is an elfpack a pack with elfs? I'm lost there. Or is it something different, lol.

ElfPack is a patch that enables a new filetype on your phone: .elf smile.gif

Find an elfpack patch for K800 R8BA and also a library for the same FW smile.gif. Patch those files then with SETool2Lite/JDFlasher and you're good to go smile.gif

My advice would be if you still want k810 FW then stick with R8BA and flash K810 elfpack and lib otherwise flash K800 R8BF FW, elfpack and lib. You'll also need a dyn_const.bin. Both Lib and dyn I can provide up-to-date for k800 (K800 dyn_const will also work on k810 and visa-versa).

I also suggest reading the Elfpack topic (altho its very large!!), this will guide you on setting up the correct folder structure which is necessary. There are various elfpacks including the normal 'Elfpack v1.0' and also 'Tartes mod' version (currant v1.9.2 rev42) which has more features and is the most popular among elf users.

The thing with elfs is they are great fun to use and can enhance an A1 phone immensly (to the envy of A2 users!!), but can also give problems with reboots which is why the library must be kept up-to-date.

First step though is enabling patching...

Hope this helps.

I've been trying to look for setool2lite with horrible luck. All of them have virus/trojans.

Could anyone upload it here?

Thanks.

The_laser encrypted SETool2Lite with special methods to prevent others from stealing loaders from it smile.gif. Most AV's pick up these methods as virusses, but they're not smile.gif

Not sure do what to do, I have to re-download my phones firmware, then the setool2lite, generates a .vkp which is specifically for that firmware?

It says to drag and drop my main firmware into the box, this is saying that I have to re-download my firmware?

When I make the backup of my GDFS, do I select k810? Or k800?

I don't think it matters much. The GDFS area is the same on both models, but select k810 just to be safe seeing as you're using K810 fw. smile.gif

I dragged my main firmware onto the qamaker.exe, but it says "can't find data", what's wrong with the firmware, I downloaded it from the provided link.
