i have been searching many forums but haven't found a solution. so guys pls help me. i want to flash my k800i for better acoustics and flash menus. what is the easiest and safest method to do this. i tried XS++ 3.1 but it didn't work. i got the following log:

I dont think you can backup the GDFS.

Just use JDFlasher and use the DB2020 script then OFS, then copy acoustics to IFS/SETTINGS/ACOUSTICS.

Yes Yes you can flash it to k810 (but its best to leave it as a k800 as you need to change the ligh teffects to k800 light effects, and even then the top row of buttons wont light up as far as Im aware if it is turned into a k810). Patches are pieces of code that add or change the code in the main firmware to add or change functions of the phone.
