Hi,
I'm hoping to get a copy of fs to my computer or, more exactly, I want to get a copy of deleted sms' from the FS. I'm aware that it can't be done with FAR, SETools, or SX++, but there MUST be some way. I've been searching the web and found all sorts of apps for Nokia phones and other brands, but nothing for SE phones. What application is the FS written in? Is it Symbian? If not, do you know what it is? - surely I can find an app that can read the FS directly, and if so there must be a way to copy it. How about a method to take a complete mirror image of the whole thing? (I can then try to cut it down on my pc later), or how about something that can just do a hex dump of the sms part of the fs? Sorry, but this is sooooo frustrating - I've been searching for ages. As an example, here is a way to do it for a nokia phone: ------------------------------------------------------------- (copied from this site: http://circles.globe.com.ph/vhinzborn/?cat=2198&paged=2) Recover Deleted SMS S60/S60v3 by vhinzborn Posted in Mobile Tricks on February 12th, 2009(2 Comments) Requirements 1.Lonelycat Xplore 2.HelloCarbide Procedure: 1.a For S60v3,Open Lonelycat explore, open hellocarbide then click option,menu1 and hit yes to bypass the restriction on private folder. Go back to Lonelycat explore by holding down the menu key for you to access the task manager, simply tick the lonelycat explore and navigate to C:/Private/1000484b/mail2 or E:/Private/1000484b/mail2. 1.b For S60/S60v2, Open Lonelycat Explore and navigate to C:/System/mail or to E:/System/mail if you save the message in your memory card. 2.The mail folder should contain many sub folders named “0010001_s” etc. and with files named “00100000″ etc. These files contained the actual deleted messages. 3.In Lonelycat Explore, click menu, file, hex viewer or simply press 3 to switch to hex viewer mode to view the deleted messages. 4. You will need to browse through every folder and all files inside them until you get required SMS to recover. 5. For S60v3,Restart your phone. Note: This trick doesn’t fully recover deleted SMS,you just have the chance to read it again with the use of HexViewer. Enjoy!!! Sphere: Related Content ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was wondering if any of you expert techs know of something similar I could try with my k750 - I've even wondered if it would be possible to get Lonelycat (above) to recognise Akshay's SESC script and run it. Any help you can provide at all is greatly appreciated. Many thanks, greg. |

If there exists and extended file manager patch for K750, patch and copy the sms folder to the regular phone memory where you can copy it from to your pc

However, I don't fully understand what you're saying - are you telling me there is a patch already that I can use? If so, I can't find it! Perhaps I should have posted this in the Newbie forum, because I think I need some more detailed instructions. Is there any risk that the patch will overwrite the old (deleted) sms'? - because that is what I'm trying to retrieve. |

Its impossible to retrieve deleted sms messages from the FS from your k750 as the messages are stored in a bin file. Once the messgage has been deleted from the bin file there is no way to retrieve it. What corman is referring to is a patch that allows direct access to the internal FS without the use of any pc software (XS, FAR for eg).
