Ok so I seem to have the dreaded white screen flash on my W850 and happened when I connected my phone to my computer for a simple file transfer, selected the file transfer screen, phone rebooted as normal, but then didn't start the file transfer mode and simply the screen began flashing white.

Does anyone know of a known or easy method of fixing it as it seems to be a common problem, but doesn't seem to be any set method for actually fixing it, and I assume it involves flashing the firmware (but have never done anything like that before).

I tried updating via SEUS (and it went through ok), but it didn't fix anything, screen still flashes white when turned on, I assume the fact it through ok though means the phone isn't completely screwed and should still be fixable?

Sounds like GDFS (worst case scenario) or EROM, both are related to firmware so

I tried connecting it to XS++:

Well, youre CID53 (which means you have to use JD flasher)

But with this:
CODE
15:05:53| Warning: IMEI name does not match GDFS name (IMEI:W850 GDFS:K700)

I would defo say its the GDFS, and the only way to fix that is with setool box or a service cable sad.gif

EDIT:
Ive just found this: http://forums.se-nse.net/index.php?showtopic=27466

I may be wrong, but try flashing the MAIN with JD flasher first.

If that dont fix it, then it is the GDFS, and the above should only be used as a "last effort" attempt to revive it. Please make sure you read it, and understand it first before attempting anything though
