Hi!
I have k750i (CID 49). Just recently I replaced its old, broken screen with a new one. When I assembled my phone's case, I must have done something wrong, because when I tried to insert the memory card, the screen started flashing and the phone turned off. When I try to turn it on, SE logo appears but then the screen starts flashing once again. I was wondering if there is any chance of backing-up data (especially my phonebook) from my dead k750i, before the firmware update (which - as far as I know - might help with my problem)? I hoped SEUS would update my phone without erasing all the data, but its newest version can't... If I flash my phone with XS+, could I backup my phonebook (i read that in k610 the phonebook is stored in GDFS - is it the same in k750i?)? Thanks in advance! Have you made a back-up of your phonebook on your SIM card?

Have you made a back-up of your phonebook on your SIM card? I didn't make any backup. As my phone doesn't turn on, I can't make any "normal" backup - to SIM, MemoryCard or PC... Is there any chance of getting contacts out of my phone's memory in other way than these? This post has been edited by drake_123: 2009-04-21 22:53 |

Are you positively sure there are no contacts on the SIM (my W595 is set to auto-add new contatcs added to the phone's contacts, also to the SIM contacts)? Check it by inserting your SIM into another phone.

Check it by inserting your SIM into another phone. Of course I am I tried to edit GDFS file of my k750i and it seems that there are at least the names of the contacts but it seems the numbers can't be decoded that way. Question: if I update my phone with SEUS, can I write back my old GDFS to the phone after it's done? Would it work? |

Thanks - i did it beforehand, but found none... I must get used to the fact that probably my all contacts are gone now. But once again - thanks for help Sorry for posting two messages separately in a row, but I thought it would be more useful than editing the post above. I have my phone fixed. The guy who repaired it said that it is a rather common case with SE k750i and all he had to do was to fix the electromechanical "things" in the memory card slot, that links the memory card slot with the mainboard (sorry, I don't know how to say it in English, hope that description is understandable for everyone). He had to switch manually - I mean: dig in that slot with the tweezers - these things to the "starting point", so the phone could "think" - this time correctly - that there is no memory card inside. And that's all - now my phone works perfectly. And one more thing - before I went to that guy, I visited two or three other GSM service points, but in every case they said that it cannot be fixed. They were wrong - so don't give up if you can't find the right service point. PS> Once again, thanks. This post has been edited by drake_123: 2009-04-25 05:34 |
