[There is a option for this : Menu -> Settings -> Connectivity -> USB -> USB network -> USB network type > vIA COMPUTER] Bro, the w705 is a wonderful phone to have. You can have your songs encoded in a decent 96Kbps in AAC format(it's extension is MP4) Idea: More good quality, more space. Less quality, more files Videos are a decent 196kbps or more for a good picture. I've been wonderin what to do with that setting to connect to the internet using the pc as a host. I've sent a mail to SE support centre. and we will see. -------------------- I+ + ![]() |

I gt the perfect encoding details.....for w705
1st of all get "ANY VIDEO CONVERTER" [SEarCH GOOGLE for its free version ], select mp4 format and choose the framerate per second as 25 .......video bitrate as 256......and audio bitrate as 64 kbps[ for more quality select higher bitrate. for me dis is quite good].. video resolution should be set to 320*240 By using these settings the video's size goes in the range of 8-11 MB[5-6 Min video]........... Bt lastly...........we get a crystal clear video quality For Songs... get xilisoft audio converter.... select mp3 encoding and select the bitrate as 128 kbps[ enough for both quality as well as size] And for images,,,, get fsviewer .... go to tools> batch rename and conversion......select 240*320 resolution for pictures Regarding camera.....i feel that if ur hand gets steady while taking pics then no need for autofocus!!!! check the pics taken by my w705....[enuf for 3.2 MP] http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/1351/dsc00108q.jpg http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/9020/dsc00118c.jpg about the speakers...i havent gt the portable speakers of se for w705....... so 2day i bought philips speakers ....MI 1500 costing Rs.600.......... they are worth d money........sound quality and loudness both go in awesome manner.....dey simply rockkk...... I recommend to buy dem for se phones....der sound is almost similar to the orignal se speakers...which cost almost double...... This post has been edited by Predator: 2009-04-14 06:51 |

Since we are discussing about sound...
Can you please tell me what is the quality of the sound on W705? (Compared to, let's say, Motorola E398)? Thanks. |

Since we are discussing about sound... Can you please tell me what is the quality of the sound on W705? (Compared to, let's say, Motorola E398)? Thanks. Bro, i didn't have a E398 phone but i had a V3i RAZR. But i haven't listened any of the SE phones but everybody loves them. My verdict: Quality is superb. the bundled HPM-77 headphones where super. The V3i had a normal earphone and you didn't have any eq to adjust, you listen only what the song delivers. Otherwise, have to do a sound mod. But that too didn't help. BUT, if you compress the mp3's too much that is the end of the quality of the song. So i recommend from 96kbps and over AAC codec is good. My idea is that you get a W705 (or whatever you like) and be transformed. I love the way each song comes out. and the "Clear Audio Experience" technology you can hear the voice clearly and separately, even with the full bass on, you can still hear the singer's voice 'crystal clear'. And the bass is like you have a large (subwoofer) speaker in your eardrums. Really super. Thats all Thanks -------------------- I+ + ![]() |

You never need any internet settings to surf the internet through wifi. Just enable the wifi, and start the browser and you can have internet access. If you disable the wifi, the phone automatically connects thru the phone network (3G, EDGE, GPRS) It doesn't matter if you connect the wifi using code or not (encryption stuff), you first need the dialup or broadband connection on the PC to be "SHARED", otherwise you cannot access the internet with anything. Try this: Assuming you might have Windows XP. (i don't know about Vista) 1. Open Network Connections 2. Right click on the modem connection or whatever you have to connect to the internet. 3. Properties 4. click on the Advanced tab 5. Tick on the "Allow other Network users....." 6 Click OK and you are done. I'm on dialup so i don't know how it will be for Broadband connection. After sharing another small step should be taken. On the same page outside, click on "Set up a home or small office...." 1. Next 2. Next 3. On the 3rd step keep the wifi connected or on. You should have it connected to a network or something. If not, click on "ignore disconnected hardware" 4. You get 3 options, click on the FIRST radio button (This computer connects directly to the internet..) 5. Now you get a list on which modem will be shared. click on the device that CONNECTS to the net. 6. Next step, if you have more than a device, it will ask you which device will use the internet. Tick on the appropriate box. 7. Computer name 8. Workgroup name 9. Firewall - your choice. 10. next 11. 4th option. 12. finish And thats all, check it out and see now if the browser connects to the net. if you are on Vista., sorry i don't know. it is a mind boggling system. The steps above is to have YOUR PC as a HOST to accept internet connection, and you use the PHONE to connect to the internet via the computer. You can also try with the USB cable, but i prefer wifi. Try it and post here if it works! Goodluck! Try Opera Mini for best performance. You will love it! Opera Mini to download thru your pc browser www.opera-mini.com to download from your phone browser. Bro try this,
My theory is not to use the Windows firewall cause i experienced that the thing does is, BLOCK the whole traffic. Now, just for a 10 seconds or so, just disable the firewall and try the connection again. (Don't use net openly without a firewall.) But to test it just 10 seconds. IF it works - we have to configure windows firewall (which to my knowledge, know nothing about that stupid stuff) So if the connection goes ok with the phone connecting to the internet without the firewall, try using Zonealarm (Download Zonealarm 8 Free) remember, even you disable windows firewall, you need another firewall else. Yours is a good machine, so don't worry. I'm using (running) Zonealarm Free, AVG Antivirus 8.5 on a 1133MHz, 256 ram, 60 Gb hdd and it is fine. AND don't call the guys from the service center. first try this. Then if it is beyond the limit, call them. if it is complicated contact me through email Sorry that i got late. Thanks! OK yeah!!
I'm relieved that it is working again. My reason to use Zonealarm firewall is that it is extremely easy. If you are sharing the network, keep the slider (tab) in the middle. Then it will let you share the net connection. Good going bro! Cheers to you too! Happy surfing! -------------------- I+ + ![]() |
