Need To Unlock My K800i With K810i Software So It Can Run An O2 Sim, Was On Voda Uk..., Where to start??!!! Options

I need to unlock my K800i which is now running a K810i software flash, so it can run an O2 sim -it was on vodafone UK originally and doesnt seem to like the O2 sim card, tells me to insert the correct sim..

I am new to flashing but so far I have backed up the GDFS, I have upgraded to CID52 from CID49, put on K810i menus etc and used a lighting 'patch' I believe so the keypad lights up properly on the K810i flashed chips. Everything works apart from I cannot use my O2 sim card, which wont do.

Where do I begin with the sim unlock?

You first need to apply QAPatch, start here...

Hi Boysie can I use XS++ 3.1"Darwin" to do the patching, would you know? As I am becomming familiar with XS++ now, unlike every other peice of mobile phone software which I haven't used as of yet!

No you can't patch with XS. Only FAR + JDFlasher or SETool2.lite.

SE2tool lite is the most userfriendly of the 3 listed above.
Also, If you just want to unlock and dont want to apply any more patches then just use simox' sim-unlock patch maker.
Oh yeah, you will have to flash your main and patch it in the same go, e.g. put your .vkp in one box and .mbn in another.

Good helpful replies, I am attempting to sort everything out as you describe right now. Try this one though..

Where is there a link to download SE2ToolLite which doesn't come with a virus!! ??
(The 4Shared search results seem to have warnings all over them..)
I believe I should be fine after I can get my hands on the software now.

The same happens with A2Uploader. Just ignore the virus warning, its fake. Set your AV exceptions list to ignore the folder and *.exe.

BTW SETool2lite is the most 'User-friendly' but its also the slowest and can't handle large patches. Better to learn how to use FAR & JDFlasher plugin. Much quicker and can handle larger GFX patches.
