Sony Ericsson announces large C905 firmware update, and adds Tender Rose variant

Sony Ericsson today also announced that it will provide a large firmware update for the Sony Ericsson C905, that is designed to add extra value to the phone. Sony Ericsson calls it the "C905 Cyber-shot upgrade" and features the following:


  • Smile Shutter

  • YouTube video client

  • WayFinder 8

  • Built-in Snapfish service by HP

  • SMS/MMS conversation style (chat view)


Other than that, there'll be the usual bug fixing, etc. The upgrade will be available from mid-February, presumably offered via Sony Ericsson Update Service.

Also announced today is the Tender Rose colour variant of the C905, which will be available this quarter of the year.

I really like the news that it will have the smile shutter but it would be better if they could increase the video resolution although it is already ok. happy.gif

That's a nice update, the sort of thing we're used to seeing for other products like game consoles but phones rarely seem to get added features

So what method did you use and with which CDA did you start updating?
I tried it with an unbranded 1209-4774 and with SEUS I got the message that I already have the latest version, but it's R1BA042...

The latest update is available on uk generic (1214-7311). SMS Conversation is on this version and everything else works fine.

has anyone noticed you cant go directly into inbox with this firmware?? if you need to you need to go messages/messages/manage messages/inbox is it just me or is anyone else having this problem?
