W300i With Blank White Screen, No menu or images Options

I have a W300i that started to display a blank white screen occasionally. It could be flipped open a few times to get the normal screen back, but now that will not work.

I have read that I need to reflash the phone. But after reading a large amount of information, I decided to just ask before doing anything drastic.

The phone powers on.
Sound can be heard as it starts up.
The screen remains blank (white).
Calls could be made but it's like using an old traditional phone. (ie: just dial the number)

What should I do? I just need the phone to work as normal, if possible. I am in the US with @tt and do not want to do anything that could compromise my account, get my phone blacklisted, is illegal or otherwise cause more damage. If it's that bad I'll buy a new phone. And please be specific, I am new to this. What software to use if any, what file to load if any and what consequences (legal, illegal, damaging) if any.
