W850i White Screen... Options

I unlocked my (CID 52) SE-W850i with SETool Lite a while ago, and everything went to plan, except the backlight didnt come back on after dimming. (Which is more of an annoyance than a fault imo)

A couple of days ago, as i scrolled through menus, they started coming up twice at the top of the screen. Eventually, the screen started flickering and went off. I rebooted the phone, and now get a white screen. It isn't bricked (I have re-flashed it twice to make sure), and I can still use the phone, but have no screen...

Is it a hardware fault, (Do I need a new LCD display?)


I have stripped it down to the point of getting the screen off, and made sure all the contacts are firmly in place.


Any ideas?

Figured out what it is...



the black ribbon has ripped.

Where can I get one of these from? Is there a product code or something?


Good old ebay- T6 tool and Ribbon for 6 quid
