It doesn't take a genius to know that we're pretty fond of rumours. Especially when pictures are involved. Just thought we'd share this with you. Can you guess what unannounced phone it is? I'll give you a rather obvious hint: It's a Walkman phone. That's all for now, but hopefully someone will know, and we can post more about it before Sony Ericsson makes it official. -------------------- You can visit my website here, if you want. |

If we guess correctly, do we get to keep it?
Is this a W960 successor? |

If we guess correctly, do we get to keep it? Is this a W960 successor? I think the screen looks too small to be the W960 successor... doesn't look "touch-y" either. I think its a W890 "update" which will add NAM 3G bands. -------------------- ![]() |

Doesn't look all that different to the top of the X1's screen if you ask me...
And with no sense of scale, how can you know if it is or isn't big enough? |

True, no scale, but we can make good estimates. If you look at the light sensors on other SE phones you can compare them to the size of the phone. However I do agree that it does resemble the X1 at the top... just seems smaller, you know? -------------------- ![]() |

I agree that it does seem smaller but until we see the whole handset, how do we know?
Also, bear in mind that the W960's size was not determined by the screen - there was a large bezel around the display which, if removed, would have reduced the size of the handset by quite some way. On top of that, if we compare the likes of the G700 and G900 to the older UIQ handsets, there has been a general reduction in size, so it could follow that the W960's replacement is also a physically smaller handset. |

That's true, and if that is the case, then fantastic! Both the w950 and w960 were way too chubby for my tastes.
I'm just trying to give the other size of the story. I would absolutely love for this to be the w960 successor, but for all we know, this is a middle level phone. I'm just making sure that some of us won't start going around saying that you saw the next w960. Also, does it look like a candybar or a slider to you guys? Judging by the left side shadow and estimate "thickness" I'm inclined to say this is either a very slim slider or a "somewhat wide" candybar. -------------------- ![]() |

Well, Mizzle did ask us to make guesses.
The W960 is a much older handset than the W890, so is far more overdue for retirement. Plus with the T700 still to arrive, I can't really see So, on that basis, I've chosen to guess that it's a W960 successor - if people don't take the time to read that it's just a guess, it's hardly my fault. Anyway, whether rumours start or not, we'll find out for certain soon enough. I'd say it's a candybar personally but it could be a slider, yes. |

Oh I would also like to add that Mizzle did say something about a w960 successor back a month or two ago... hmm...

Heh well I just couldn't resist...
Here's another rumor: this is the X10, a mobile phone which has a holographic display popping out of the screen. -------------------- ![]() |
