![]() This is going to be a short one, we just wanted to post the high quality JavaOne video - you know, the one with the unknown, unannounced, mysterious THREE-way slider smartphone, that's supposedly going to be launched this year, according to Sony Ericsson's Rikko Sakaguchi? Yes, you remember? Well, great! Here's the high quality video - don't forget to press "High Quality" on YouTube for the very best of the best. Well, sort of... Thanks, Xell! Why couldn't they show more of the phone and less of the nonsense!
Edit: Watching the video very carefully this time... it looks like in the first part, when the guy is texting, he flips the screen down, as if this was a "LG EnV" type of phone... anybody else agree? Edit #2: I watched it again like, 10 times. It is a sliding keyboard. haha This post has been edited by Mr.Phear: 2008-08-23 03:54 -------------------- ![]() |

My immediate interpretation is that first we see the phone slide sideways like the X1 to reveal a qwerty (probably) keyboard.
Then he closes that and slides the phone upwards like a normal slider to reveal some camera controls. Finally the girl has the phone slide downwards to reveal a video calling camera. I'd guess this would be another Xperia handset. @ Photographer that would be because it's a promotional video or maybe even an actual advert and not a technical demostration -------------------- ![]() ![]() market: For Sale: Phones & Accessories; For Sale: Other; Wanted; Archive reference: A-Z of Trusted Traders; Leave Feedback; Market Rules other links: Useful Corporate Contacts |

I'm pretty sure it's an Xperia handset... or maybe even a new line. It has the XMB interface which we all know from the PSP/PS3. I know that the new SE's have a similar XMB type of interface, but not quite the same.
Hopefully this is actually something that is released. I would be very disappointed if this is just another "concept" phone that will never be released. -------------------- ![]() |
