The new Sony Ericsson C902 just landed at my doorstep, and it's a really nice handset with a very sturdy feel to it. The first impression is rather good, but the space around the display seems wasted, even though there are eight touch sensitive camera shortcuts.

Now, on to our large gallery of this metallic sharpshooter. I hope you'll like the photos - I've started shooting them in another way, that - in my opinion - looks way better than what I've previously been trying out.

Please check the link below for the gallery.

Along with the C902 also came the W760 - watch out for that one soon!

K850 advantages
- Xenon flash & LED
- MemoryStick Micro / MicroSD support
- Larger and brighter display

C902 advantages
- Photoflash LED (which is actually more powerful than a normal LED flash)
- BestPic can be used with flash
- Very clever camera shortcut solution, works better than the solution on K850
- Smaller, better materials and better build quality
- Better firmware, not only more stable, also several new features, such as geo-tagging and location services
- Sharper display, better colours

I've probably forgotten about some, but those are the primary ones, I think.

- Photoflash LED. Well the K850i beats this with its Xenon Flash lol.gif
- BestPic can be used with flash. Well again, only because of the lack of a Xenon Flash, however i suppose this is a handy feature so i agree with you there.
- Very clever camera shortcut solution. OK, i agree with that again, and with the rest, apart from the Firmware one seeing as the newer K850i one seems to be much better then when it first came out.

Regarding the photoflash LED. This is better for macro shots, definitely not anything more than 1-2 metres away. But it all depends on whatever situation you're in. The Photoflash is very bright, though. I was almost blinded for 30 seconds by pointing it directly in my eye, because I wanted to see how bright it was.

what about c902's disadvantages,

-no gps even though even mid-range phones have this
-there is no way that tacky led photoflash is as good as a xenon
-the fast port on the side, clearly a bad idea
-the camera slidery thingy give it a week before you have problems with that
-tiny screen with wasted space
-the k850 has the better camera regarding quality and options
-volume/zoom keys in the wrong place how the f**k did they get there lol.gif

You're wrong about the camera quality and options. Also, K850 doesn't feature a GPS. And the zoom keys are actually really conveniently placed for photography. Regarding the photoflash, read my previous post.

The fastport on the side is an issue of it lasting longer on the side.

Well i admit i've never seen/used a 'Photoflash' LED on a phone, however is it like ones on the N73?
If so then i admit they are efficient for LEDs but for mose situations the Xenon flash kicks its ass smile.gif

least the k850 has a accermeter thingy, the zoom keys were fine at the top moving them further down just makes it a inconvent volume control, photo flash is just a fancy name for led flash and i know what the led flashes are like, So the fastport lasts longer on the side??? how did you work that 1 out i've never had a broken fast-port.

Do you mean an accelerometer? C902's got that as well.

lol.gif Just a fancy name? Yeah, sure, whatever...

And yep, when they're built into the body of the side, they last longer. The side provides a better stability or something like that. And maybe you haven't had a broken one, me neither, but I've had a few that were getting loose. And I know many people who've had their connector broken. Haven't heard of one where it's been in the side yet.

If you're so sure about the quality is better, then let's do a blind-test, if you're up for that?

Didn't see that one, willi. Nope, it's better than what I've seen from N73 and N73 ME.

For your information, the exposure time is shorter. Come on, man, give me a break...

So... which one is C902 and which one is K850? What are you basing your decision on? These are full size crops, by the way. Unedited. I've removed the EXIF data, so you can't cheat.
