Along with the five other phones being announced yesterday (well, six, including the J121) was also the G700 Business Edition, which is basically a G700 in a new grey-ish colour without a camera on the back. Still lacking is W-LAN - why, oh why? A business edition G700 should have W-LAN!

The G700 Business Edition will only hit Asia-Pacific regions, so it's a no go for European and American companies.

totally agree. not sure what they were thinking here. if they would have just did this same color g700 but added Wi-Fi and kept the camera, it would've sold me immediately. (well, with the addition of quad-band). but nope, massive fail again.

That would've made less sense IMO since the camera is a bigger feature on the G900.

Except that the whole point of a 'business edition' phone is that it is more business-friendly, catering to the widest possible range of companies, including those who frown upon features like the camera as being unnecessary and liable to act as a distraction, right through to companies who for security reasons cannot allow their employees to carry handsets with a camera.
So, for it to be a 'business edition', the camera always had to go.

As for the wi-fi, sure it would've been nice but by the time you start changing that many features, it's basically a whole new model of handset.
Plus, doing that would've cost money, whereas just removing the camera won't.

well i guess it would depend on the type of business then... its possible that a business person would need a camera... less likely, but still a possiblity.

If they need a camera, then they can just get the normal one.

well yeah lol. but i mean, if you're an on the go business person, dont you think wi-fi would be more useful if you're traveling (since there will be plenty of hot spots)

If you want wi-fi, then it would be the G900 you'd be looking at.

okay okay you win step hahaha
i just dont think this camera-less phone will sell... i mean, you're paying a pretty high price already, and for a higher end phone, who isnt going to get a camera, you know?

It'll sell.
Ok, it's a specialised variant, so it won't sell as much as the standard version but it'll definitely sell - neither SE nor Nokia would produce these camera-less versions if there wasn't demand.
