So we all saw the recent picture of the lastest SE models with some new mobile phones but in this topic i'd like to discuss about the K500i successor. Here is what it looks like:

Attached File  K510i.JPG ( 3.35K ) Number of downloads: 491

It is rumored to have the K510i index, or K550i. After reading some posts at M-R it seems it will have 1,3 MegaPixels, memory card support and no radio (i hope it does have radio however).

Also it seems it will be revealed at CeBIT next week. Anyone else has any informations about this model ?

According to what I read on Esato K510i is this one:
Attached File  k510i.jpg ( 22.39K ) Number of downloads: 413

It has no radio and no memory slot.

What you show is probably the K310i, successor to the K300i

If K510i/K300i looks like this, the K800i looks pretty much the same, how odd is that, they cant have the same design for both the phones...and both of them look horrible! (i dont mind payin for the k300i though, nice design for its price/market range)

It's impossible! The K500i successor MUST have memory slot, last year's Siemens CX75 had it, M75 also and those phones were Siemens' middle range.

It only makes se-nse that in the picture you show is the K300i successor, in which case i can understand the lack of memory card slot and radio.

Not necessarily, it depends on how much internal memory there is. If it has large internal memory then as a mid-range phone it would not need expandable memory as well

Maybe someone can please explain to me why this topic with rumors about a phone that has not been launched has been moved from the Rumors section (where it obviously belongs) to (suprise!) Mobile Phones & Accessories ? With this strange logic about half the topics in the Rumor section could be moved here. thumbdown.gif

You do have a point here, if there were say 256 MB or 512 MB internal memory it would be sufficient but i don't think that's the case. confused.gif

Anyway anything below 128 MB internal would need a memory card.

the k500 successor is the blue one, and I believe it will have radio with RDS, but I need to check that to be sure smile.gif

the silver one is the K300 sucessor smile.gif

Most probably they are both the same phone (K550i).
One is the normal version, the other one is provider-specific afaik.

If you compare them you see that they are the same:

I will post a press pic of the K500 successor on Tuesday morning smile.gif

sorry it isn't earlier, but the NDA's and my sources require it smile.gif

[edit] as I said before, the blue one is the K500 successor, and the silver is the K300 successor

This would be the first time that a low-class mobile looks exactly like a mid-range phone... confused.gif
What kind of tactics is that?? blink.gif

dyce, when will we see that pic? when the phones are unveiled by SE? btw: when will that be?

Goody! Can't wait! What can you tell us about the radio ? In my opinion it's a must!

Dyce, is there an nVidia chipset inside ? Do you know if it shoots video in CIF resolution ?

Before CeBIT of course! The phones will be unveiled on the 28th and CeBIT starts on the 9th of March.

And you are right the look very similar. confused.gif From a design point of view it makes se-nse that the blue one is the K500i successor because the area around the joystick looks round like the one on the K500i, while on the silver one it looks square like the one on the K300i.

I don't like how the screen is positioned so low on them. I like the way they positioned it on K750i/W800i with very little space between the screen and the top of the phone.

I just hope it will shoot video in CIF resolution. happy.gif *crosses fingers*

Maybe they are hoping you will buy a cheap phone and you will trick most people into thinking that you have a mid-range phone. We all know how much people want to show off their money.

some of the specs to wet your appetite;

1.3 megapixel camera,
128 x 160 pixels with 262,000 colour screen,
MP3 player,
disc2phone software,
styleup covers,
Bluetooth,
PIM, Gaming,
40-tone polyphonic ringtones,
MMS,
Calendar,
28MB internal memory,
Tri band

With regards to radio, I need to check I'm not 100% sure but considering a J series has radio with RDS I would therefore assume that the K500 has it aswell smile.gif
