As promised here's a camera sample from the G702 also known as Beibei. As said earlier on, this phone packs the best fixed focus camera I've seen in any camera phone, and on the software side of things, Sony Ericsson has really upped its game. Even though this is a really good sample considering it's a prototype, it can actually do better than this - at least it does do better in a few other samples I've got, although these can't be shared (obvious reasons). We've removed pretty much all the EXIF data not to reveal too much, once again, our reasons are quite obvious. Press the thumbnail for full view.

the colours are really good the details and sharpness is nice i wouldn't buy it though i dislike the actual phone the navigation pad design and everything, the cameras on the g900 & g700 are rubbish so why is this one on the G702 so much better.

number1,
I told you, didn't I? Guess what - the focal length is lower than that of your K800! -------------------- You can visit my website here, if you want. |

The cam module in this G702 doesn't look like a sony one, it looks like a OmniVision one same sort the w890 is using.
i still like my 5.2mm focal lengh why would i want less, i have seen some c702 pics with it's 4mm focal lengh the pics are really not very good it looks like the c702 is using the same sensor or same sort as the k800i the iso, shutter speeds, pic size in kb,compression are the size as what the k800 would give only difference being the focal length. -------------------- ![]() |

I'll give you two reasons for why you'd want a smaller focal length;
1. The sensor needs less light to each pixel 2. The smaller focal length, the wider picture, meaning you'll get more in the frame -------------------- You can visit my website here, if you want. |

By getting more light photons into the sensor, and thereby each pixel, the shutter speed will indeed be shortened a bit, yes

i'm pretty sure you've got the light thing wrong, check the focal lengh samples here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Focal_length ,the 18mm is darker than the 55mm. sure your get a wider picture but you will also lose detail. -------------------- ![]() |

Look, I know what I'm talking about here, and I'd be more than happy to show you some examples with my camera, if that's what it takes to convince you that this whole focal length situation is nonsense.
By the way, a couple of days ago I checked that site, and the minute I saw exactly that 18-55 mm comparison, I knew you'd show me that comparison. A few things you should note there - all photos are shot with flash ON, meaning it'll overrule the shutter speed, and you won't see any difference in the lighting. As you see, in the 18 mm shot you have lots of details in the photo, whereas only a few are in the 55 mm one. This is because the 18 mm shot is considered wide-angle, and 55 mm is slightly zoomed. -------------------- You can visit my website here, if you want. |

yes, mizzle was right. small focal length produces wider view than long focal length. small focal length produces a somewhat "architecture" view in photography. (perspective) than long focal lengths

Hey Mizzle, someone on Esato said that BeiBei was going to be called the P220, has it been confirmed that its the G702? Or are you just guessing?
