We've been fortunate enough to get our hands on a pre-factory unit of the C902 sharp-shooter. Here's our photo gallery of this beautiful & thin camera phone. Expect our preview of the C902 in a few days, and a review of it hopefully in a few weeks.

can you please test the camera and post up some pics, so far all the camera has produced is crap not surpising for 5.18mm focal and 5megapixels, also the screen looks small and horrible, the little camera lights are a waste of space they should have fitted a bigger screen instead. if you want a 5megapixel camera phone the k850 is a better option it has a 5.2mm focal length and also the good old xenon flash and a better screen.

The display is actually quite good. The camera will outperform the K850, and the 0.02 mm smaller focal length means nothing. The photoflash is - by Sony Ericsson - said to be on par with xenon flashes, performance-wise.

We'll get some photo samples up later on.

Well to have used the extra width the screen would also need to be proportionally taller. Considering the sliding design it was probably not realisting to put a taller screen without making the phone too long. With that in mind the camera functions are a nice use of space.

they could have just made the screen wider not taller, isn't photoflash just a stupid name for a led flash like my old k750 used to have, these new flashes are weak and sonyericsson.gif know this they have used a cheap trick to make the flash look more powerful the shutter speed is longer so the shutter stays open longer to capture more light the disadvantage is you will have to hold the phone very very still or you will get blurry pics. unless the camera produces some really amazing pictures better than my k800i i will not be buying this, it actually looks like a it's no better than my k800i, screen is the same size, camera is worse, not sure about it's music capabilities but with a phone that thin the backspeaker can't be very good and being a cybershot i am pretty sure the sound in the headphones won't be any good. also the fastport on the side what a bad idea.

A wider screen would need to be different resolution otherwise it would be stretched and I think people would be more upset over a phone with resolution which is not compatible with all the existing themes, wallpapers and games wink.gif

The LED in this is something different to that seen on previous models. I think standard LED ones were called PhotoLight while on this it is called PhotoFlash and hence is different technology. Whether it is on a par with Xenon Flash we shall wait and see.

This phone is clearly better than the K800i in every way and I don't think you can claim that the camera is worse having never seen or used one. Also photos taken with prototype handsets are typically worse than the final product as was the case with the K800i.

Another totally wild assumption is that the soud quality will be poor because it is a Cyber-Shot. It will have less music features but there is no reason to assume poor quality. Furthermore that logic should also make the K800i poor for music.

Fastports have been on the side for some time now. It doesn't cause any problems for me other than the fact that the phones don't fit nicely on old desk stands, they do however now produce desk stands to hold phones with side mounted fastports.

I see no point in being so pesimistic about a new handset without any factual basis.

the k800i prototype pics were nice looked just as good as the final phones pics, in everyway the k800i was a good upgrade from my k750, bigger screen ,3g better camera. The trouble is now my k800i is a few days off being a year old i need something new i have the money waiting just can't find nothing to buy, i want a camera thats better than my k800i's, i also want a better music player better screen and faster internet, and i want another sonyericsson.gif i like sonyericsson.gif 's for some reason and i have loads of sonyericsson.gif accessorys and cables, the c902 is an option it has a better music player doesn't mean it sounds better, from what i've seen so far the camera is worse the screen is not better, the internet should be faster it's 3.5g rather than 3g. i'll wait for this review and sample pics if the cam is better than my k800i's i will buy the phone when it's released. i could probley live the fast port on the side, another annoying thing is most new sonyericsson.gif don't have the play pause button on the side i will miss this button.

I think you must be looking at K850i and C902 images at full pixel size rather than normal photo or print size. because they are larger they look worse atfull pixel as they are being displayed larger.
personally I don't think the K800i is any better than them for photos viewed at the same size though the larger MP images can be enlarged with less loss of quality than the K800i.

The K850i also has a better screen apart from brightness, a better UI (A200) and better media player.
Perhaps you should grab one of those they are only around £150 in the market.

yes i look at all the pics in full size when compairing them, my k800i pics even get increased in size when i use them as a full background on my 17" screen for some reason they look even better as a desktop wallpaper.

I quite like the k850i, the screen does look nicer i'm a bit unsure about the camera but i have seen some nice shots with it, yes the media player is better. But they tend to just die and have a huge list of firmware bugs i wouldn't buy one from a market only a shop due to the problems the cheapest i've seen so far is £180 in the carphonewarehouse i paid £170 for my k800i so £180 is a fair price, i myself have never had a problem with any of my sonyericsson.gif phones none of them have broke or died on there own, the java was a bit iffy when i first brought my k800i but it was fixed with new firmware.

Nope, this is actually either hardware or software distortion. This is not uncommon in prototypes.

@ number1

most K850i have nothing more than minor bugs and I think that has improved since the firmware has been updated.
By market I didn't mean the local dodgy dealer on a market stall I meant from a private seller in the forum amrket here or on esato. You get a full warranty with the handset anyway so there's not much to lose.

@ Mizzle

that K800i proto picture is pretty poor, just shows how much different prototype handsets can be.
