Wilma & Betty, I Think I'm Going Insane, No.4 Options

I can't believe this, its the 17th of Jan this morning. Low and behold there is a 4th leak this year this morning.

Wilma and another handset.

The pics first appeared at M-R forums.

The first pictures of the new K750i successor leaked today and show the new device also called Wilma. The new device equipped with 3.2 Mpixel camera, QVGA screen, support for all possible Bluetooth profiles including the A2DP Stereo Bluetooth profile, stereo soundspeakers like the W550i, 466 MB internal memory and support of EDGE, UMTS and videotelefony with an extra camera on the front.

As indicated by Mobile-Review the size of the device will be quite the same as the old K750i, due to the camera the size of the device is two mm thicker.

It is clear from the pics that the new device will support the new user interface which is a complete change from the old UI. It shows the same raster of 3x4 icons. The complete menu is also shown as a line with icons familiar from the new UI in the P990i and below this line a set with programs indicated with really nice icons.

It is quite clear that the icons look the same as used on the new P990i and indicate that Sony Ericsson will close the gap between the Symbian UI and standard JAVA phone UI, the same as Nokia did with Series 40 third edition and Series 60.

The last thing that needs to be indicated is the fact that the new device uses the same new central key as the W810i, a new keypad, double colours looks and that the Quickshare notation is available. Sony Ericsson got ride off the notation on the W810i and W830i because there was not the intention to mix up the imaging part and Walkman part of the portofolio.

When we mention this handset, you all know we already saw this device a week ago:

The specifications of this handset also known as W830i are quite close to Wilma. The camera is still the "old" 2.0 mpixel camera, 3G (without front camera and videotelefony), stereo speakers and large memory are also suppored. The only missing part is the 3.2 Mpixel camera. This device will be the upgrade for the W810i and will be available at the end of this year.

Wilma however will be around sooner than expected by everybody. Real time date is not yet known, even as the expected salesprices.

2006 will be a good year, what a great start,

Dyce, that's great news mate, and it looks cool.
I've heard also that we can expect it sooner than we would've thought soem time ago.
Summer are probably likely, and what a nice summer it can be with this device!


One thing i wonder about though, what amount of colours can the new display show 262K or more?

both sets of pics appear to have been taken on a TFT screen from a presentation, possibly with a good camera phone, or web cam

Wilma seems to be a bit bigger then Betty.
Bettys looks is also the best I ever seen!
But hopefully thes pictures of Wilma doesn't do it
justice.

I have to admit, they do certainly confirm what I was told last year about looking like Japanese styled devices. I don't think these will be the last of the Japanese styled devices

Dyce I'm really sorry if your brains are getting cramps from the avalanche of leaks so far. Speaking for myself I'm both happy and sad, I love the leaks and all the discussion that follows but this is the second leaked phone this year that I have absolutely failed its pictures here on SENSE. I only get something like the top 10% of the pics and then Opera tells me the page has finished loading

that is odd, it doesn't appear to be server related. Try in a different internet browser to see if that is it, and also check your ISP incase they are aware of any issues.

MR had a similar issue from germany, but that was down to a faulty router in germany.

thanks for your efforts Dyce9984 ! But do you think it would be a smartER phoner ?
I mean can we load serious applications to it in future rather than Java express use applications ?
I have the S700i and don't see a big different till now either in the K750 or te new W900
I realy envy those NOKIA users who can play RealPlayer video & Audio files !
I wish if SE can produce smarter handy mobiles to beat the series 60 sets
