oooooh, maybe SE are finally going back to the K700i K500i style, they ruled because i love the metal look, especially on my P1i.

Well, it looks to be an A2 handset so it must be pretty high-end.
But with a 2mp non-AF camera it's certainly not a Cybershot model, so it's either a Walkman model or maybe a T650 replacement or something to sit above the S500.

Well, no, not necessarily which is why I asked.

It could be an A2 handset, which could also mean that SE are set to start releasing that platform across their whole range.
Or it could be a similar but more basic platform that will be brought in across the lower spec handsets which shares some similar traits with the A2 platform but is designed to slot in below it in the SE range.

The W880's successor has already been released - it is, rather unsurprisingly, the W890.

Which part of the similar shape, similar materials, updated spec with new platform and even the succesive numbering doesn't make the W890i a successor of the W880i??? confused.gif
It must be the most obvious successor of all time tongue.gif

As for this handset, well we can't see much from this but it is A200 though that may not necessarily mean high-end. I think all SE phones will move onto this as it is the new standard platform.
Also I don't think it is a slider looking at the buttons so it won't be related to the S500i.

Yes but you see that's a logical argument tongue.gif wink.gif

I'm not overly familiar with the older SE handsets but would I be right in saying that high-end and low-end handsets tended to run on different platforms?
Not that that necessarily holds true not but what I'm getting at is that there could be a 176x220 A2-esque platform for lower-end handsets on the way.

Of course, it's just speculation on my part, it just struck me as a possibility...

Are the S-series all necessarily going to be sliders?

Well they have all been sliders or swivels so far so unless the new nomenclature is going crazy I'd hope so wink.gif

Previously the really low-end SE's have had different platforms but mid and high end have shared the standard one.

Ah, of course, the S600 and 700 - I forgot about them entirely.

Well, he said it's a low-to-mid range phone.
And one can only hope they're finally going to finish getting rid of the pointless back button layout.

i wouldn't say its pointless, it was very easy to use and handy. the new lay out puts them more in the main stream so maybe they will be able to convert people to SE from other manufactures. (same boring key lay out tongue.gif)

will be sad to see it go if all handsets take the lay out

Yes, the previous layout was very good and I liked the back button but A200 phones still afford the same and more functionality by simply applying back to the right softkey.

Looking forward to seeing more pictures of this.
