Can I Make My T650i Work 100% On 3uk Portal?, 3UK needs certain certs to work Options

I have an unbranded t650i with R8BB001 on it.

I'd like to be able to use it properly on 3UK so i can view the 3 portal (videos etc)

I have a K770i available for me to use which is branded on 3 and works 100% on the 3 portal.


Can someone please point me in the right direction of what i need to do?

Do i just need to copy out the security certs? and then send them to my t650i?

I don't think it will work as the 3 network requires your phone to be 3G capable, and the T650 is not.

You may be able to get the sim recognised (although I never have in any non-3G phone) and manually put in the WAP details (available in the web) but the 3 portal will not let you download or stream and videos (it comes up with a wap page saying you are out of a 3G area)

sorry, but i think you must be confused. T650i is 3G, as i have it working on 3G, its just on 3UK's portal that is blocked without branded firmware (certs)


T650i and k770i are essentially the same phone, one is just cybershot branded, the other isnt. Casing is different.

Eh? Oh bugger I was looking at the T630

OK assuming the phone is unlocked as well as unbranded go to Sony's site and fill in the boxes as you go. It will text your phone (make sure you have the 3 sim in the T650) and set that data account as the default. From there just select the internet from the main menu and all should be working.

BTW if you go to Settings -> Connectivity -> Internet Settings -> Internet profiles you can switch between providers depending on what sim is in your phone.
