W810 CID50 Customize and Debrand Options

i added the main and fs files to setool, and clicked Flash. It then gave me the instruction to "hold c and insert usb cable". i have tried this about a half dozen times and nothing appears to happen in se tool.

my phone says "preparing for file transfer" and then says don't remove the usb, but nothing appears to be happening.... setool still says hold c and insert usb cable

anyone know what's going on here?

Upon further testing, my problem is fixed by restarting setool lite after each time i do any operation (i.e. after i identified my phone, i had to restart setool to flash)

add me to the list of satisfied customers. successfully debranded my phone. Thanks a lot to the OP and to the laser.

hi, i have a question i hope someone can help me with.

i made a new folder by accident (had a typo in the zip file i was using), and i'm wondering if i can delete it somehow using setool?

It shouldn't hurt to leave it, but you can use a delfile: script. In the first post it shows how to enable flash menus. Follow that but with the folder you want gone.

I was hoping MP3 ringtones could be enabled via a script, but haven't found anything yet.

hmm, i flashed the silent camera thing to my phone, but howcome when i turn on silent mode and tried it.. i still hear the auto focus sound + capture sound? o_o

i opened up setool, added the file i downloaded to the misc area, clicked flash, connected phone while holding "c", til it said phone detached then i removed the phone, did i do anything wrong?

Yes it does, I've followed the guide and it works perfectly. One thing I do notice tho is a REALLY slow startup, but after that, the menus load fine. Also connecting to the computer proves to be a trouble, but that could be my comp.

EDIT: Nvm a quick reflash and removing the battery after each step helped.

@browni too:
actually, technically you are not patching your w810i cid50 phone. you are flashing/debranding (or with the case of camera/acoustics/flash menus, you are customizing) your phone. CID50 phones still cannot be patched (which you would use a .vkp or script file for).

did you flash your phone with the america_2 or orange_gen FS file? make sure you flashed with america_2 FS (when I flashed with "silent camera" customization file on orange_gen, it didn't work for me, but after I re-flashed with america_2, then the customization file again, it worked for me)
doesn't look liek you did anything wrong with setool2lite. if you did flash with america_2, i'd suggest trying reflashing the customization file with setool2lite v.107 (1.08 seems to be unstable for some people for some reason)
also, if you're customizing your camera driver, flash the driver first, then the customization file (not sure if the the order really matters, but give it a try, it won't hurt, it's just how i flashed my customization file)

that might be your problem right there, you didn't debrand. i'm not 100% sure on this, but i don't think the suppress camera sound will work on a phone that hasn't been debranded (and i'm pretty sure you can't just flash the FS by itself IF you have not flashed your phone with a generic MAIN).

and i think i read it somewhere on the forum, either debranding does void warrenty, or it doesn't and rogers just greatly frowns on it, but i'm not planning on dropping/washing my phone any time soon if you don't feel comfortable with debranding, then best thing is not to do it

so does anyone have a problem with the active destop.swf flash theme. Because every time I use it, the "stopwatch" looking icon, that I assume is supposed to be the radio, doesn't work.

actually, i was the one who experienced the WSOD on this thread , but it was only a problem between mediafire.com and my laptop (the FS file didnt' download right for whatever reason). but after I got my friend to download it for me (which worked fine on his laptop), and following the directions provided by stuckfugu, the debranding process fully worked.

for some reason, i was not able to delete the protected files after flashing even thoguh we should be able to, maybe some secuirty feature in the new CID50 doesn't allow it (or it hasn't be hacked through by coders yet). after debranding, the soft key shortcuts will become "Calls" and "Menu", everything Rogers is removed (like that stupid Rogers Music Store).

When i flashed with the the FS america 2, i got an error message.
Im currently locked to Rogers, would unlocking fix the error message?

man =( i think i jacked up my phone.

i followed all the instructions.. everything seemed to work just fine.. until i turned it on..
it seemed to act slowly, then when i could finally type in the pin code for the sim card, after typing it in, it went straight to a message that something was wrong with the configuration and that i should contact a service center.

ive got a w810i cid50 from germany (o2) .. i got the corresponding fs and main from the iprobtebe.cz and did everything as explained in with the tpa

PLEASE help =( im pretty worried right now

UPDATE: after praying and checking everything a couple more times - i figured out i had made a tpa/preset/custom directory.. and put the tpa/preset/custom i downloaded in there (too many folders) .. i just cleared that up.. flashed er again.. and im UNLOCKED, thanks so much man, u have no idea how long ive been waiting to do this with my cid50

no, u need to flash your phone withe the customization file to remove the configuration error message, all the instructions were posted on the first post by stuckfugu

just so u know, u didn't unlock ur phone, u simply unbranded it. u need to pay a company like wotan server to unlock ur phone
