Perhaps not, but I rather like designs, which offer something different. Most mobiles these days can be somewhat generic, even if they look great. I appreciate the odd dash of the unusual now and again when it comes to mobile phones, as long as its practical and looks good.

The Nokia 'lipstick phone' is a good example of how not to do this. Granted that it was unique and appealed on a certain level, but it was just too impractical without a keypad.

I agree it is a refreshing change from normality but seemingly at a sacrifice of the camera.

Also I think the back looks very old, like an out of date radio from the 80's or something. Retro gone wrong wink.gif

The lack of a camera is both strange and refreshing at the same time. I think this handset would make a very nice second handset for someone who already has a cameraphone or a primary handset for someone who doesn't want or can't have a cameraphone (i.e. works somewhere tey are banned).

The old look of the radio side actually appeals to me, I like that sort of look and it thumbs its nose and the generic silver/grey plastic of the modern mobile phone market, with its standardised early 21st century look. Huzzah for old-fashioned design! tongue.gif

I can see your point. I don't attach value to different things though if I don't like the idea behind it. This is just a matter of taste though and I guess some people would appreciate this.

However, I can imagine it attracting attention when somebody walks into a store for instance which is a good thing.

It also looks quite big in the mans hand, not a good quality for a "second phone" in my opinion

Agreed, it's the same with all mobiles, it comes down to personal taste. It is just nice to see manufacturers releasing something with a bit of character now and again. Not that I'm saying that SE's other handsets don't have charcter, but this really does stand out.

I like the dual front concept that SE is carrying off with this handset.

Along with the K750i S700i this an excellent example of the Convergence Concept.

I also like the 'retro' looks. Phone meets Transistor Radio!

That seems a bit pointless to me, TV sound but no picture. Music channels would probably be about the only thing worth listening to so might as well just stick to radio wink.gif

Quite so ugly and I hope something like this will eventually come to Europe but preferable with a serious facelift hence the look feels so outdated with that kind of LCD.

It's only the back which looks outdated.

I think it would be much more effective to have an impressive "music centre" side with radio and walkman controls, a colourful display with cool visualisations and all radio track info etc.

I really can't understand the idea in producing a phone with such an ugly and outdated look?

To all people in Sony Ericsson's design team, please do NOT introduce a phone with this look in Europe. I reckon other compaies will laugh their asses off if you do.
